Jack of all trades

"Just let them try it out, I'm not sure if they are interested. If not, then we'll just stop"
Well.... IMHO, interest can be cultivated. Don't give your child or yourself an excuse. With these kind of thoughts, the child will be a Jack of all trades, but a master of none. If you, as a parent/caregiver isn't serious about letting the child learn something --- art, dance, music, martial arts, etc., then why even bother to send them in the first place? Might as well don't start at all.
Dunno where to spend your money, too much free time, or #kiasu and just to keep up with the Joneses since other people are sending their children?

Alang-alang menyeluk pekasam, biar sampai ke pangkal lengan.

Be ready to invest your time, money, energy, tears, sweat, and also sometimes a stand-off with your child and handle tantrums, threats, negotiations.
Wanna see results? Then give them at least 3-5 years. NOT 4-5 months, for God's sake! Don't give up and don't give in.
Be firm and plod on, no matter how hard it is. And at the end of the day, you'll reap the fruits of your labour. And your child will thank you for it.

Parents, PERSIST & PERSEVERE, don't give up! Gambate! 加油!
Those adults who have picked up something when they were children and gave up after a few months or a couple of years, ask yourself this, have you ever said that you regret giving up your what-what-what classes, and wished your parents were more firm in "pushing" you to continue your lessons instead of allowing you to quit?
Tepuk dada, tanya selera.
